books you should read 2018

**before we begin a one of the books i haven't read, yet. i'm adding it on the list because i know when i eventually read it, it'll end up on the list anyway. i'll explain when i get to it.

hello hi welcome. hope you are all having a wonderful black history month. i want to start being consistent on here we'll see how that goes. from the title i'm sure you can tell what's about to go down. please feel free to let me know any of your favorite books or authors. i'm always on the hunt for new reads. follow me on ig @hennyandhemingway.

these are just a couple of my favorite books so far:

-Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz
this book is everything 15/10 would recommend to any and everyone.

-Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
this a comfort read for me i don't why (patch that's why). it's a cliche ya supernatural romance but i love it.

-The Color Purple by Alice Walker
a classic. go on and read it. you're welcome.

-I Know Why the Cage Bird Sings by Maya Angelou
i've never had a book make me feel so much. it was written so beautifully, i teared up at several points
while reading it.

-Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin**
i haven't read it but feel that i just put it on the list because it's a classic. it's a book that i know will be a great read. i'll update when i eventually read it.

-the whole Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater
this series is everything. the characters make this story and i love each and every one of them.

-the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
futuristic retellings of classic fairytales. go on an adventure and read this series.

-Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston
a very important book in black literature.

-Lord of the Flies by William Golding
those little boys taught me so much. the progression of the story and the character development made for a great read.

-Animal Farm by George Orwell
i think if animals could talk they would drag humans at every chance.

(i can't believe i forgot this classic. one of my all-time favorite books.
-In the Heat of the Night by John Ball
can not tell you how many times i have read this book. virgil tibbs is such a well-written character and the story is so good. highly recommend

these aren't all of my favorites just some of them. let me know your favorite books. it's lit out here. happy reading folks.
